Dr Kirsty Clode is a highly professional and successful Operations and Safety Leader with over 27 years’ experience managing teams within major, global and multi-million dollar businesses taking her all over the world with BP UK, BP International and BP Chemicals. Kirsty has a strong track record of developing world class teams and is passionate about staff engagement and developing STEM talent. Formerly the Entity Leader for BP's Petrochemical complex in Hull, she now chairs Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME), a business-led programme working with Humber businesses in the manufacturing and engineering sectors to proactively employ more women.

  • Establishing a private sector partnership between Green Port Hull, Siemens, Airco and JobCentre Plus to address an under-representation of Women in STEM industries
  • Assessing the role of industry in developing a programme of advice and support for women to train and apply for leading STEM roles
  • Engaging girls and women in a way that works for them and Partner companies
  • Growing the programme by showing the importance of recruiting skilled women to overcome a large number of regional vacancies and skills gaps in leading manufacturing and engineering companies
